After applying, I got a offer to interview with the representative's legislative aide. The interview was conducted over the phone and included a discussion of academic and work history/ experience.

It was an informal meeting with a house member where we discussed their district and their issues and they asked about my background. It was very laid back but it could be different from member to member.
