I interviewed here a few years back and still think about how horrible the experience was to this day. The process began with a phone screen with the COO, which went well. After that, I was invited to come into the office for an in-person interview, which I accepted (my first mistake). The first part began with the COO at the time asking some general interview questions in a condescending tone. When she was done, she told me I was a lot different in person than she was expecting (to be fair, I realized quickly that the in person interview was a lot harsher than the phone screen, so I definitely came off a bit shy out of nervousness). She then went to grab the President/founder of the firm. He came in, asked a few questions, basically laughed in my face at all of my answers and then proceeded to ask me if knew what "Black Scholes" was. I did not, so I said no. He then went on to say "And you were a finance major? Where did you go to college? Remind me to NEVER send my child there." After an hour of being laughed at/talked down to, that was the straw that broke the camel's back - I wanted to start crying right there in the interview seat. They then asked if I had any questions, I said no (although there was no chance at me getting an offer after how poorly this interview seemed to be going, there was also no chance I was going to accept if an offer came through), and then I left. A few final notes: I was 25 years old at the time interviewing for a pretty standard early career client associate position. One of the job responsibilities listed was something to the effect of "Perform all necessary admin duties, such as mailing, answering phones, etc." I am not sure if they should be expecting someone to know what Black Scholes is and then also have that listed as part of the job. Lastly, there were only about 10 people working there at the time of my interview - every single person except the founder and one other person has since left. There seems to be extremely high turnover at this company so if that doesn't speak volumes about what the job environment must be then I don't know what does.
