I went in for an in person interview after waiting a couple of weeks to hear anything from their HR department. The interview went really well and I had a really good feeling about the position. I thought I would be a great fit for all of the job responsibilities and it was a perfect working environment.

OATI used a group interview style where I was only asked one question by the VP, and that being my current role (something easily found on my resume). I was then told in the group interview that the role I was to interview for was not open, but that I could apply for another role not near the paygrade or skillset of the position I originally applied for. I felt strongly about the entire interview process anyway, and felt as though I was asked easy questions and only given positive feedback and responses. I was not offered either role which would make sense since the role I actually applied for was not open and my skill set and experience didn't match the other. So, they had me wait multiple weeks and make room in my schedule for a 2-hour long interview where the job I applied for was not open, but told me that day that I was being considered for a less paying, less responsibility, and a position of different skills from what I had applied for.
I cant claim to be an HR/ recruitment expert, but lying to applicants about the positions they're applying for during two hour-long interviews is definitely not good or ethical practice.
