I applied to their job posting and heard back within a week to setup an interview. I was immediately struck by how professional they were in their messages and later communication as we held an interview to go over my background. The interview was one of the best I have had as I had found a company who was growing and had great people behind it (even their Glassdoor page has glowing reviews). I was told the next step would be an additional interview with their team who was extremely busy the following week but would hear back with more information.
I sent the normal thank you message and also followed up once the next week had gone by. Two weeks after the interview they reached back out and explained that things at OpenExchange can change on a dime and they had decided they needed to reevaluate the structure of their team. Sadly they did not want to hire anyone so the very positive impressions turned to concern about why the company would be interviewing for roles they did not want. The company seems to be doing great things and has a very relevant product to today's needs so I hope that their team can figure out their struggles on the hiring side as they leave behind multiple candidates who I am sure all would have loved this role helping them grow even more.
