The interview process at Overjet was professional, engaging, and transparent. It began with a screening call with Nina Chepovska, an HR representative who was very kind and supportive. This was followed by three detailed rounds of interviews. The first was with Sheraz Ahmed, a staff software engineer, who was both friendly and engaging as he discussed the types of engineering problems I’ve tackled, delving into their complexity and my problem-solving approaches. Next, I participated in a design exercise with Steve Strassmann, a senior staff engineer, who was approachable and insightful during the open-ended design conversation, where I developed a solution to a technical challenge and wrote real code. The final technical interview involved Wade Green, a senior director of engineering, who was thorough and thoughtful, focusing on both the technological and interpersonal aspects of my experience, asking about specific projects I’ve managed and how I’ve handled design disagreements. The process concluded with an interview with Marcus Gois, an engineering manager, who was notably transparent and provided continuous feedback on all my answers, helping to clarify and enhance the discussion. Overall, the process was thorough and provided a comprehensive view of the team’s expectations and the role.
