Candidatei-me por meio de recrutador(a). Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Oxylabs .
Entrevista
Got messaged through LinkedIn, first call was with tech lead and recruiter. They told me about the company, about the product and the position. It was really nice that tech lead joined and could tell me more about more tech side of the product. Later on, I got an assignment, that took around few days to complete. It could be completed by both junior and senior deveveloper in many different ways so everyone could show how good they are. After giving the completed task, I was invited to review the assignment with previously mentioned tech lead and an engineering manager, where they answered rest of my questions about the company, team, role and everything else. After that, I was asked to give 3 people that could give a recommendations. After it was done, I was invited to the last interview where I got an offer.

Entrevista
Interviewed for a cryptic, one-off position unrelated to the company's main profile.
The first question was: "Why are you interested in web scraping?"
I said I'm not really specifically interested in that.
He looked genuinely puzzled: "Then why are you here?"
I had to remind him of the job description, which was immediately a bit of a red flag to me.
We talked about my background then.
I was asked something along the lines of: "Why do your job spans keep getting shorter?"
Which was not only factually incorrect, but my shortest role was at least 1 year. I wouldn't call it job hopping. Another red flag right there.
Overall, the talk was pretty generic and uneventful. The interviewer did project some weird energy, but nothing too disturbing.
I was declined on the grounds of not having enough "refactoring experience". Which is kind of weird. Because you see REFACTORING is normally not a distinct career specialization. It also never came up as something immediately important within the vague description of the prospective position. I imagine it was just a lame/polite brush-off. But then again, what do I know. Maybe they did require a lot of REFACTORING 🤔
We had a video call where I introduced myself, talked about company and possible position. After that I got my home work assignment. I waited for an answer for at least a week.
