      Entrevista

Two day interview process, first day with board members and second day with faculty presenting your work. The time when I interviewed one of the board member's even went to the extent during my presentation of using a curse word in Guajarati as he didn't seem to understand my sound research work. Its an all men board committee (zero diversity in terms of gender equity) and one person had the audacity to insult every interviewing candidates (those who didn't work for them in past and appeared for interview) to make him look big (although seemingly had zero research understanding). The first day of interview gave the taste of toxic culture present in the organization which the potential candidates might perceive as a government organization through their online advertising and marketing (in reality its not and its privately owned with zero work place policies). The second day of interview was with seemingly accomplished faculty (except for couple) one persistently emphasized on my work suggesting to demand for something out of context in terms of my research work. My two cents: If you are a potential candidate thinking to apply and are with intellectual capacity looking to grow don't consider giving time to the institute. It is just the quantity research publications and no transparency in sound research in public health (Except couple faculty). If you look at lower hierarchy faculty they all are minted from the same institute and seemingly come across as faculty that is "renowned". Dr. Malvankar seems to be legit person who truly cares about the institute and was the only person that facilitated first day of interview that left a little good taste/vibe. It all depends on what you are willing to give up and what you are willing to bare as a toxic work or learning environment can only affect your productivity.
