Candidatei-me por meio de uma faculdade ou universidade. O processo levou 3 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela Palo Alto Software (Eugene, OR) em nov. de 2019
Entrevista
This was the first interview that I had ever done. I submitted my resume to HR and got a phone interview which was behavioral and a few technical questions about big O and data structures. Next round was a technical interview with two software engineers. Questions were not difficult, however I definitely choked under pressure.
Phone Interview with team lead. Then Code Challenge. The Whiteboard interview with panel comprised of team members.
Interview with Team lead went great and he asked me to do the code challenge. He gave me great feedback on the code challenge and invited me to the in person white board interview at their office. I asked for a few topic to prepare for, and they asked me to talk about SSL, and REST API's.
I spend the next couple days preparing to go great things during this white board exercise.
In the white board interview they did not ask about SSL and REST Api's. They started by asking me to talk about a project that I had worked on over 8 months ago, and I told them I did not feel comfortable explaining it in detail. They reassured me that it was ok, Just talk about what I can, from a high level. They did a great job listening and probing to get more information.
They chose not to extend an offer with the feedback that I was not able to technically describe in detail the project I had previously worked on. I did not feel I was set-up for success by the hiring manager, by being mislead in an area to prepare for, as well as being asked to describe a project in detail that I admitted openly I was not comfortable doing, due to a time gap.
The people I met during the interviewing process seemed like they would be great team members, given different circumstances.
