I actually knew someone at the company, and with their referral everything went quite smoothly. Standard questions about technologies relevant to the company, work history, etc. PayPal is mostly a C++ shop, though the Platform team (external-facing API stuff) is Java. People in my area are very focused, and a great deal of work is done on an individual-contributor basis. Some of the most important parts and projects are actually one-man jobs. So, be ready to work and figure stuff out yourself. Also, the developer environment here is not the most innovation-friendly.
