Only got the screening interview. It was a phone interview rather than a video chat. They asked about why I was interested in the position, about my qualifications, and what my salary range was. All went well until the salary question, to which I responded diplomatically several times. They ghosted me without a word after that.

I interviewed for a Data Science Manager role at PayPal Dublin and went through all the rounds of the process. The initial recruiter call was friendly, but after that, all communication shifted to email and became painfully unresponsive. Despite clearing all the rounds, I never received any closure. I sent multiple polite follow-up emails over several weeks, but the recruiter never replied. No update, no feedback, no communication at all. It felt like I was just left hanging after investing significant time and effort into their process. For a company of PayPal’s scale, this level of candidate experience is disappointing and highly unprofessional. Respecting candidates’ time and providing timely updates — even if it’s a rejection — is the bare minimum. Ghosting candidates after final rounds is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the company’s culture and hiring practices.
