The interview was set up by a third party recruiter. I spoke with a talent acquisition specialist based in Oklahoma City, OK via FaceTime. I was confused when she wanted to discuss my college experience as I am three years removed from university. The questions were basic and straightforward. So, I was surprised when I heard I wouldn't be moving on past the first initial phone interview. The feedback I received as to why not was a) I am over 60 days removed from the last day at my previous company and b) I looked down at my notes when she asked me about my five year plan. I can understand if Paycom has strict hiring guidelines, but please make those clear. I suppose someone should have noticed I have been out of a job for over 60 days before scheduling the interview. Also, I wish she would have mentioned I would be downgraded for looking at notes. I could have easily answered without the assistance. Paycom requires drug testing for this position. Not sure how that works in states with legal marijuana laws.
