I had the initial call with the recruiter, who was very professional and did a great job of explaining the interview process. It’s four rounds if you include the recruiter screening. Meet with the sales manager in that office, virtual meeting with Regional Vice President, then a 3 hour cold call session where you need to book a meeting…. After hearing that last part I declined immediately. That is exploitation and I’m sure illegal too. Folks, please don’t do it. There are other, much better opportunities that won’t waste your time. Paycom is trying to exploit your labor for free. I’m pretty sure this is illegal and if they were sued, would probably be fined a hefty penalty. For sales roles, it’s not uncommon to have a mock call, but those are no more than 15 minutes, maybe 20 with feedback and questions. Think about it, you have to take PTO from your current job, which comes out of your pocket. That time spent you could have used to make more money, only to potentially not get the job. I’m so sorry to the people out there that went all the way to the final round, spending 3 hours, only to not get the job after being exploited for free labor.
