Entrevista
My recent interview experience with Peanut App for the Senior Software Engineer (Web) position was a mixed bag, with several positive aspects overshadowed by communication inconsistencies.
To start on a positive note, the initial screening process was seamless. Despite a scheduling conflict that prevented the intended interviewer from attending, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) stepped in and conducted the interview, maintaining professionalism throughout.
The second technical call with two members of the team was particularly enjoyable. The discussions were engaging, and I appreciated the opportunity to delve deeper into technical aspects relevant to the role.
Following the interviews, I was promptly given a coding challenge, which I completed within the specified timeframe. However, after submitting my solution, communication from the company became sporadic. Despite my proactive efforts to follow up via email for feedback, there was silence for an extended period.
Eventually, after reaching out, I received reassurance that I had passed the initial stages and was ready for the next step. However, the subsequent call with the technical team felt redundant and lacked clear purpose. It merely served as a follow-up on the solution I had provided without offering substantial new insights or direction.
Regrettably, the lack of feedback following multiple interactions over the span of more than 20 days has left me questioning the company's commitment to transparency and respectful candidate engagement. In such circumstances, even if an offer were extended at this point, I would find it challenging to consider, given the communication challenges experienced throughout the process.

I recently had my first interview with the Engineering Manager, which left me with a positive impression. We engaged in a detailed discussion about my professional background, the company's requirements, and potential strategies for achieving mutual success. However, toward the conclusion of the interview, it became apparent that the position demanded significantly more leadership experience than previously indicated in the job description. This requirement had not been mentioned in the initial job posting.

I went through 3 rounds of interviews: (1) Interview with Head of product/design - Talked through my experience - About the role, and about Peanut (2) Task interview - I had been given 3 questions in advance to prepare answers for. - Talked through my responses in the interview, and was asked questions (3) CEO/founder interview - Gave me pitch on the business - Talked about my experience, asked me questions etc. At this point, the process was meant to be completed. However, after the CEO interview, the Head of product/design asked if I could have a quick chat to their CTO (i.e. they added an extra round). I was going on holiday the following week, so asked for it to be before then. They couldn't make that work so I volunteered to do the interview while I was away on holiday so I could bring the process to completion. We set up a time/date for the CTO and I to speak. I spent at least half a day of my overseas holiday preparing for the interview. I dialled into the call from my hotel room but the CTO didn't show up. I emailed and got a response from the Head of product/design saying sorry, there was some issues with times/connection, and that they'd get the interview rescheduled asap when I got back. They didn't get back in touch. A week after I got back, I emailed them, and a few days later got a response saying they were progressing with another candidate. I received no meaningful feedback or reason for why they didn't want to continue the process. Unfortunately, I didn't receive an apology or acknowledgement from the CTO.

1. If you are part of the founding team at Peanut, and you need to define the order in which you show profiles to users in the profile stack, how would you approach this? What would your MVP look like? 2. How would you tackle the problem of misinformation on Peanut? 3. If you were the PM in charge of in app monetisation, how would you look to measure success, what are the key metrics you'd focus on?
