Candidatei-me pessoalmente. O processo levou 2 dias. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Penzeys Spices.
Entrevista
I called the store after seeing an ad online for the part time retail position to find out if it was still available. I submitted the job application in person at the store. I was greeted from across the room by a clerk. I heard the music...Captain & Tennille and Sergio Mendes + Brasil 66. I thought it might be annoying to work here if this type of 60's and 70's music was playing all day, even though I like that music, just not in a store and while I'm working. I got a call the next day from the corporate office to set up a phone interview. Phone interview began with a strange statement from the interviewer about how the company does business - nothing specific just vague statements like "this is the way we do things, its always worked for us". It sounded ominous. The description of the job was bizarre - I was told I did not need to know much about anything to do the job and to not stand at the register if there are no customers ready to buy. It left me feeling as an applicant like what is the job then? Why are you not asking about my cash handling experience or my customer service skills? Nothing she said to me made me want the job. The irony is I think the job would have been healthy for me even though she made it sound like nothing. I want to talk to people. And this job would have given me that. They ask employees to open and close the store, take money to the bank. Run the store entirely. That sounded fine with me. I could not convey to the interviewer that I was qualified and wanted to do it because everything she said made the job sound awful.
Another note, there was laughing or talking in the background during part of the interview. I thought that was unprofessional. I was told by the interviewer this company is not one of those companies that conducts interviews and then never gets back to an applicant. So far I have not heard anything and do not expect to get a second interview.
