Online assessment to determine your moral compass and basic personality traits alongside coachability. Was selected to move forward with an in-person interview with SM (they did not clarify whether it was on the phone or in person). Asked basic interview questions about store management, team management, selling skills, brand beliefs, why Peoples, and what I knew about diamonds. Progressed to interview with district manager (Dean), with elevated questions and more elaboration on examples of my coaching and people management skills. If you know how to speak to your skills and can give strong examples, it will be a breeze.
Inquired about the company’s benefits, well-being programs, initiatives, and things that set Peoples apart from other retailers - Employee Assistance Program was brought up.
Feedback for Peoples: I interviewed at the beginning of the month, and was told that I was to wait until the end of the month to hear back. I’m sorry, but that turnaround is much too long for candidates to hear back- Peoples isn’t the only place a person is applying at and interviewing for positions. You could be missing good talent just because the wait to hear back is a month long.
I wasn’t selected to move forward after waiting longer than a month- I had to follow up with Dean to hear the status of my application. I replied back thanking them for the experience, and asked for feedback on my interview so I could apply it to my future applications. Haven’t received a reply in over 20 days.
Applicants are customers too, and the whole experience was just bad customer service.
I do not recommend Peoples unless you are willing to wait for an update on your application, or you’re willing to hold out because it’s your dream job.
