I first met up with the manager that knew what I was talking about and had a basic interview as far as what the ideal interview would be like. Which then he implied stating that I would be a good candidate for the position. Wanted me to meet with the owner of the company.
You then go back for a second interview and meet the owner of the company. He first reads your resume' and asks who you are. Then he asks you if you know what PerformTel is. What it stands for, and what is the meaning of this business. Which then tries to teach you the basic information of the company and the company's goals and the mission of the company. Which that technically should be on their website, and not to mention in the basic training when hired on so you're not waisting the individual's time. I was moving from different cities, as well as different jobs. So I had a few things going on as being a full time student. So the owner didn't "trust" that I was a liable employee and I would have to "prove" myself in order to get the position that I was looking to get. He asked me something that was tech related. However, he was fishing for ideas to better his business within the interview. Which goes to show (for me anyhow) he is cheap and not wanting to pay people accurately in regards of their ideas and concepts. So I made a generic idea as to what he was needing.
Not only he was derailing my employment history, he degraded me as an IT Specialist. However, when he was trying to act like he knew what he was talking about; he messed up and I corrected him and his analogies. Which his response was, "oh that's right...that's what I was trying to say." Then he told me that I could be making 10.25 an hour in their customer service area. I told him that I am worth more than that. He implied that I would have to build up to the IT Specialist and "prove" to him.
Now, that being said, I have an associates degree in networking. I have education experience and experience on the side. I find the pay insulting and how he proceeded to say that my employment was poor and basically derail me as an individual. I currently am working for the government and making way more than he offered.
Oh, and when I told him that I'm worth more than 10.25 an hour and that my recruiter from school and I are on the same page; he replied as "he must not be an owner of a company."
