Interviewed in early 2019. Was a generic phone interview to gauge social skills and go over the role and responsibilities. It offered pretty average to below-average pay for summer interns, which I didn't care about and didn't even comment on, but the interviewer felt the need to add "It's more than you'll make flipping burgers" which came off as kind of insulting considering the already pretty disrespectful manner the interviewer was speaking in. Regardless, I ended up getting an internship that paid more anyways. It was followed up with a second phone call to explain moving forward and giving me a technical project to turn in. Didn't do it, though, because I was pretty confident it wasn't a place I wanted to work. Disrespecting your potential new hires just because you feel you're in a position of power over their livelihood is kind of weird.
