The phone interview felt unstructured and confrontational.
After just saying hello and introducing himself, the interviewer paused without guidance. When I responded briefly and politely, I was immediately criticized for being “too silent and not pitching myself”, instead of being guided through the process. (Aren't they expected to tell about the company and role first?)
A job interview should be a structured conversation on both sides; not a situation where the candidate has to guess expectations from the first seconds.
This approach may especially disadvantage neurodivergent candidates or anyone who relies on clear communication cues.
Not a positive experience.
