Two-stage interview process:
1. Initial technical coding test conducted online via HackerRank.
2. Follow-up Zoom interview with the Head of Department and Architect.
The atmosphere during the interviews was relaxed and friendly, albeit with a focus on technical topics that caught me somewhat off guard. Notably, there was no discussion about managerial experience; instead, the emphasis was on the ability to be hands-on and provide technical guidance, given the absence of a team lead in the structure.
Following the interviews, constructive feedback was provided on the spot, suggesting a need to sharpen technical skills in the short term to align with the needs at the new site.
After a few days, I received notification of passing the interview stage and was informed to expect a confirmation letter within two weeks, accounting for the Chinese New Year holiday period.
However, despite the initial positive feedback, there was no further communication or response to my follow-up inquiries. Surprisingly, after four weeks, I was informed that they had decided not to proceed with my application.
And the reason given was, insufficient managerial experience (???)
