I waited 30 minutes after arriving to get to my interview, and it was a weird and stiff experience. I was dressed for a formal interview, and so I was surrounded by animals in my dress and tights. We walked around different areas of the property where I was asked seemingly random questions.
For example, I was asked if I had animal care experience, and I said no but there was something on the job ad about paid training. I was then told it's more on the job training, meaning that you learn everything while on the job. I got the same response when I asked how the training would work, and was told I would just be with someone. Everything I did I did with no proper training.
I do remember being asked if I knew why cat's ears sometimes were clipped, and he seemed impressed with my knowledge on cats. I didn't end up working with the cats, though.
Also, the ad I answered was called "Pet Care Specialist" and when I showed up I was told it was now a "Daycare Attendant" that could possibly be moved to the hotel. Not at all the same job.
At the end of the interview, I was told to come back for a shadowing, where I stood in one of the yards with a manager to see if I could handle it. That was it. I was hired after that.
