      Candidatura

Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Piper Sandler (Minneapolis, MN).

      Entrevista

Video interview followed by a four hour in-person interview. They had several people interviewing for the same role at once, and the interviewee's would rotate between rooms. No personalized follow up after, just an automated rejection email of someone else getting the offer.

      Candidatura

Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 1 semana. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Piper Sandler.

      Entrevista

After applying, I was invited to interview with 2 other recruiters for 30 minutes each. They use an interview system called HireVue, and both of my interviews froze about 2 minutes in despite logging in early to test every function and being wired into my internet - seems like something with the program, though I can’t say for sure. The second interview didn’t show up after I waited for 10 minutes for them to join. We had to reschedule. Technical issues aside - all of that stuff happens - I give a negative review because they scheduled an hour of my time (not including the time I prepped for the interview) and did not offer any salary transparency when asked. This is a completely antiquated recruiting practice. Salary transparency should really be the norm. It is in several states already. I was honestly a little taken aback that this would be a practice during an R4R search. In this job search and my last one, almost all of the recruiters I spoke to during interviews were transparent about compensation during the first conversation. It builds trust, it sets up for a better candidate experience, and it doesn’t waste anyone’s time. I was ultimately rejected for the role which is fine since I get the feeling the culture would not be a fit for me, but I think the process could still be improved. It’s a waste of everyone’s time to not be honest about compensation - including the business. When asked about the salary band, there should be a straightforward answer. Unless the hiring team truly doesn’t know what the budget is for the role - in which case, why is it even open? Questions asked were pretty standard. In both conversations, many of the questions were the same - not sure if that was intentional or not, but it felt like I was having the same conversation twice.
