Entrevista
I called the store back to schedule an interview after listening to their voicemail they left for me. The girl carelessly said "Okay, just come 'whenever' on this day, I'll be here 'til seven"... So, I arrive and I tell the girl at the counter I was there for an interview with _____. She asked me if my name was ____ and I said no. Figured there must be a lot of candidates for the position, but she could've just asked me my name? No sweat. I met the girl that interviewed me who seemed no more than five years older than me. The questions she asked were fine, but were obviously googled because she read them like a computer. She didn't care what I had to say and it seemed like she had made her decision before I even shook her hand. She talked 90% of the time and when I would answer her questions, she often side eyed and said "..oook". I didn't think there were wrong answers to questions about personality and personal interests, but this girl wasn't shy about showing her disapproval thoughts of mine. I told her my interests and future career goals and she shut them down with one thing or another or a condescending grin. Negative feedback even after telling her my accomplishments with past employers. It was almost comical. She was so closed minded and how this adult was was speaking to another adult was frankly unacceptable. She was intimidating and seemed like she was trying to play into the straight- forward, tell it like it is kinda authority. But she was rude and nothing else. I even considered that she was testing me to see how I react under pressure or with conflicting energy. There wasn't a chance I would have accepted the position even if it was offered to me, which she immediately assured me I wasn't getting at the end. She said my personality honestly seems best suited for another location. Most professionals have the courtesy and right mind to say they'll be in touch after touching base with a team, but it was clear she was anything but professional. Not to boast, but I have exceptional retail experience with remarkable brands and a substantial number of references to back me. She made me feel like I was interviewing for my first job, which actually ran smoother than this. She also disclosed that the staff picks their outfits from merchandise on the selling floor, wears it for their shift and if it's clean enough, puts it back on the floor to sell. (ew?) Maybe from a higher end brand store. I won't shop here again knowing what I know now about their uncleanliness and how they speak to people in general. They didn't call me to tell me they went a different route and their job postings are still active. Maybe be nice to people that like your store, idk just a thought.

By far one of the worst interviews I have ever had. My interview was scheduled for 12:30 PM, I arrived at 12:20. I went inside and was told that they were still with the previous person and waited roughly 15-20 minutes. Finally, two women come inside the store, greet me and say they didn't know I was inside. Not sure where else I would be, but okay. I followed them outside the store and they asked me only a few questions, none of which had anything to do with my previous job experience. I was unaware of the fact that I needed to have knowledge of high-end brands so that was an error on my part. However, despite my lack of knowledge of high fashion, I felt had she asked me questions about my actual job experience, things would have gone better. Overall, the interviewers were very condescending and judging and I felt extremely uncomfortable during the entire interview (which was less than 10 minutes long). My interview ended with nothing being asked about my experience and being told, "Okay, I think we're done here." Be aware when applying that you MUST know about high fashion and current trends otherwise you will not be taken seriously or respected.

The interview process was standard - I went in to their Santa Monica HQ and interviewed with three people. What wasn't standard was the complete lack of communication following the interview. They never had the courtesy to email me a rejection for the position. I emailed asking if a decision had been made and received no reply. If a candidate takes the time to come in for an interview and send thank you notes to each person they interviewed with, aren't they deserving of a simple and timely rejection notice?
