Applied online got a fast response. Scheduled a 1.5-2 hour interview. At the interview I was greeted by receptionist and interviewed about what I do and stuff. I am not sure why? She gave me details about the interview and hiring process. I was told that the compensation discussions will be done with the senior level management in your second round of interviews. Later she gave me a test and I was given paper and pencil to write on, and I was given 30 minutes to finish it. No body came to check on me for 1 hour. Later, she came and she asked me how I was doing, I told her doing good. She offered me more time to finish the test. I said no thanks, I am done. Later the receptionist placed me at a table to program an app again given an hour for it. (2 hours already). After 2 hours I met with somebody(manager or lead) I didn't understand what he was saying though. Anyhow, he took me into another room, went through my test, gave me feedback, and asked me more questions. The questions he was asking were on his laptop and he was reading the answers and the questions. It seemed like he went to the same site to look for questions that I did. Another 45 minutes to an hour. He didn’t even bother looking at the app I coded. He asked me about my salary expectations, but the receptionist had already told me that compensation will be discussed in the second round of interview, so why is a developer or a lead asking about my salary expectations? At the end, I notified the person that I have been here for 4 hours already. And the blame was thrown at the receptionist. I expected the management to be more responsible, but nope, he left me with another programming question and asked me to leave it at the reception desk when I am done. I asked if I could take this home with me. And I was told "no. This is very important! You better do it before you leave. And you have to go home later anyways." So, I believe the person before me who wrote poor reviews for mismanagement or no appreciation for employees. Employees or people being interviewed aren't respected at all. I wasn't asked for coffee or any washroom breaks. I didn't meet any senior level staff in those 4 hours. Questions: What is a thread? What does it do? What's the difference between struct and class? What's overriding vs overloading? What does a compiler do? Write a one line expression to check if a number is a power of two. Write a method to list all the unique letters in a string. Use any language. You have 12 balls. One is defective. You can use the balance scale 3 times. How do u find out which ball is defective.

Recruiter told me it was a first round interview. The interview was a take-home assignment to finish within 1 day. The assignment was not difficult but it still requires some experience to finish.
