After the initial conversation with the recruiter, I was given a take-home test which I was expected to complete and send back in an email. I did this and had to wait for about three weeks and multiple emails before getting feedback.
With taking home-test you’d usually expect your next step to be a session where you’ll explain your submission and maybe answer any other questions with the reviewer, but instead, the feedback I got was that they’ve decided not to proceed with my application because I did not “log any errors.”
1. This was not stated as a requirement in the test
2. You don’t log errors for logging’s sake. You log errors when you have a good business case to do so.
The feedback was unfair, and the team’s approach was very questionable, at least.
