Told me the job is terrible and asked if I was willing to put up with it. First woman who I spoke with was friendly, but the man I spoke with made me grateful they never called me back.

I applied on Indeed and within the next couple of days they sent me an email to call their recruiting coordinator. It was a brief conversation with simple screening questions about why you applied for the job. She set me up with an in-person interview the following week. When I got there the first thing they had me do was fill out another application on their computer. Once I was done with that I was told to just sit at a desk because the manager stepped out while I was doing the application and waited for about 15-20 minutes until he came back. Based on what other people have said on here, I assume that they deliberately made me wait that long so I could observe the sales floor, which was nothing special. No one seemed happy to be there and there was no sense of community or culture among the employees. They also clearly do deceitful sales tactics. I observed on salesperson make calls stating they work for the athletic department for the University of Chicago and another saying he was with the athletic department for Colorado State, neither of which were true. Once the manager came back he took me into a room and the interview was easy enough, he was nice and it felt like a good conversation and he basically just explained what I would be doing for the job. Once it was over I was told that I would hear back by the end of the week about a follow up zoom interview with the VP of sales. The following day I sent a follow-up email to the manager I had the interview with to thank him for his time meeting with me and never got a response. By the end of the week I still heard nothing and that next monday I sent an email to the recruiting specialist that initially contacted me asking about any updates in the interview process and heard nothing from them as well. It wasn’t until I looked up the company on linked in and saw a post about a new hire at that branch that I knew for sure I was not getting the position. I found it extremely unprofessional that they would ghost someone like that and really put a bad taste in my mouth. My advice to the company in the future is that if you have someone interview and decide not to hire them, please just tell them that instead of ghosting them and making them wait and check daily to see if they got a response. I would have much rather just gotten a rejection letter instead of being treated like that.

You will not start receiving commission until you hit (insert X amount of revenue in sales, I do not remember the exact number but it was in the 6 digits) in a calendar year, is that okay with you?

I applied to this job thinking I'd be doing some advertising at least, turns out it's basically just cold calling. However, it went smoothly. Nothing negative to say. The interviewer was polite and excitable.
