Progressive uses a multistep hiring process at which any point you may or may not be invited to the next step. All steps lasted a little over one week in my experience. For me, each turnaround time was approximately 1-2 days for the various steps. You begin by applying, then being invited to take an assessment that takes approximately 30 minutes and includes math, vocab, and a mock customer call. I then was invited to perform a recorded interview wherein they have some recorded questions by various staff members, you get about a minute to prep and up to three minutes to respond, you may "retry" your response one time if you don't like it. The questions are behaviorally based and the responses are expected in the STAR format. Progressive will give you some prep material and I also found it helpful to watch the various youtube videos by Madeline Mann. The videos can be recorded from a mobile device or computer. I recommend a computer and a calm environment. Finally, I was invited to a live interview (via video) with a supervisor in the claims unit. The interviewer was very easygoing but professional. They will go over your work history, talk a little about the job, and then ask some additional behaviorally based questions where again the STAR format is expected in response. Be sure to have a couple of questions to ask at the end and relate your experience in your responses which best correlate to the job. I was called the following day with a conditional offer of employment contingent upon a background check. I think some people have reviewed the company harshly because they were not invited to the various steps. If you have the experience it will show, and the interviewers will be able to pick up on that. Naturally, a few otherwise qualified people may fall through the cracks but the process is about as good as one to get when being conducted completely virtually.

Interview consisted of an assessment. Next step is a Hirevue recorded interview with questions in a STAR format. If you pass this, you will schedule a final live video interview with a hiring manager. This is where the process stopped for me. I received an email stating that I was not selected.
