Base on the job posting, they needed someone fast! So I think the initial phone interview was just to narrow down applicants for an interview.
The interviewer was very friendly on the phone, asking standard interview questions. She also gave full details of what the position entailed as well as compensation. The impression of the interviewer also a senior management was quite good. She was friendly and very helpful.
In the interview, I change my impression. The office/warehouse was disorganized, there was no proper office to conduct an interview - just a place in their warehouse where we sat and talk... The interviewer (same as the phone interviewer), seem like she need to be reminded of what we said over the phone. Even though it is not a big issue, it seemed that she too, was a rather hasty, messy person. My resume , which she had on hand was folded. There was no folder or anything. In general, the culture was very informal and laid back. My impression from the first one on one interview was not a very good one, the company lack organization and have seem like no structure. The interviewer also seem like things always has to be done one way so it is obvious me that there will be little room to negotiate. (see negotiation phase)
