      Entrevista

This is the kindest I can be: I’m willing to bet the last person didn’t quit asap to “find herself” but got tired of being treated less than human. The interview galvanized me to leave my first review on an interview process. I was so appalled, I had to check with 2 recruiter friends to make sure I did not misunderstand the situation. It’s like one of those things that my b school professors wrote books about and people in tech talk about all the time but you don’t think you will encounter it all in one place by one man who came ready to tear someone down with a vengeance. It was an interrogation that failed to take into account that interviewees have dignity and vet positions/companies just as much as interviewers. I cannot describe everything that was said as the consequences in tech are too high for people who speak out against injustice and inequality, but it was hands down the worst interview questions and dynamic I’ve had in my entire career. It was almost as if he was on a hunt to tear someone down that day (background noise and him being distracted included). There is a way to speak and cultivate trust and show respect, especially as a leader, and that was far from it. I highly hope the leadership team reads this and takes note. This not a review from someone who wanted a position and didn’t get it. This is a genuine review to let you know the world is headed in a different direction and it’s towards inclusion of gender and race with empathy as the forefront of design and busines (ask Ideo and Stanford); those who do not get rid of the rotten apples in their org or teach them to be better, go down with them. (I was told by someone there that if I leave a bad review, they will have to get a couple of employees to give good reviews to offset the bad reviews left by people. Instead of, you know, learn from feedback and improve things)
