There was really no interview process for me as I followed my advisor from his original institution as he moved to Purdue. That original interview was relaxed and informal, like most graduate school interviews. A smooth advisor/advisee relationship is key to success in any Ph.D. program, so learning whether or not you get along with your potential advisor is equally important as him/her figuring out what you know.
