The process involved a meeting with a VP who was not the direct hiring manager. Unfortunately, the experience was quite frustrating. The majority of the questions were unrelated to my professional background or the core competencies required for the role.
The interviewer focused heavily on two specific areas of the job description that I had already clarified were new to me. Despite expressing a strong willingness to learn and explaining my plan to bridge those gaps, the interviewer seemed dismissive. To make matters more confusing, she concluded by stating those specific areas were only a "small part of the role," contradicting the amount of time spent on them.
The questions asked were often vague and ambiguous. When I sought clarification to ensure I was providing the information she was looking for, the interviewer appeared visibly annoyed. It felt less like a conversation to assess fit and more like an exercise in navigating unclear expectations.
