I initially applied for a position on line and after several weeks received an email out of the blue that QVC was interested in speaking with me via phone.
I did a lightening-fast phone interview with a recruiter who was most interested in my fit to QVC but did not give me a chance to ask any questions. It was clear that this person was getting through as many phone interviews as possible on the day I spoke with her. She was pleasant but definitely rushed.
I was asked to interview in person and took part in a panel interview with several department members. Yet again, no opportunity for me to ask any questions about QVC, the specific team or actual job. They were very focused on "grilling me" to see if I was a match for their team. I had a sense that these folks are quite full of themselves (sorry but true) and that they would be doing me a favor by asking me to join them.
I was told that I was a top pick for the job and that the next step would be forthcoming within one week. I did not hear back from the recruiter in charge of the position for a month and I then sent a polite "thanks but no thanks" follow up letter.
My overall impression is that everyone there is overworked, rushing from one thing to the next at a fractic pace - totally overwhelmed. Although the overall company seems impressive, the fact that they never once tried to sell me on the benefits of a career at QVC left me with an overall bad impression.
