• After completing an initial recruiter interview followed by three more rounds of interviews, I was asked to submit a time-intensive project that included a slide deck, a ghostwritten email, and a visual asset, which ended up requiring 25+ hours. I received no feedback on the project, just an email letting me know I had moved onto the next round. I went through that interview (the person interviewing me was looking at my resume for the first time while interviewing me) and then was told via email that I didn't get the job. The rejection email was a generic form letter, which felt dismissive and unprofessional after the significant investment of time and effort.
There was no feedback on why I was rejected, no acknowledgement of the work submitted, nor any clarity on whether it would be used internally.
I was very disappointed because the process started off fantastic, but declined as time went on. Unfortunately, my experience gave the impression that the company may be extracting free labor under the guise of “candidate assessment.”
