Pretty straightforward . Expected tech questions, got tech questions. Talked to several folks about the job, got to meet people in the local office. This was for a data science job but I got engineering questions too.

I submitted my resume to apply for a data scientist at Rakuten Slice, but the recruiter was kind enough to pass my resume around to other hiring managers. At the end it was one of the other ones that took an interest and we set up a phone screen, which involved high level discussions of my interest and what his vision and needs are. It turns out we are a pretty good match so I was invited for an on-site. I also volunteered to give a presentation during the on-site to summarize my work previously. The on-site took place over a period of 3 hours. I gave the talk first and had 3 one-on-one interviews afterwards. One was with the manager of an adjacent team and the other two were with the hiring manager and someone on his team. The last two were quite technical. They complimented me on my talk. Overall things went well. The whole process was guided by the steady hand of the HR representative. She is very professional and a good salesman for Rakuten. Also she was very transparent and that compelled me to be the same. I had other offers, and at the end I was able to get Rakuten to bump their offers up a little bit. I am happy with my choice. The whole process was very efficient and transparent, especially the post-interview part. Overall, it was a good experience.
