I applied online for a vacancy, and within a week I was contacted by email, to send Randstad a video presentation of myself, using a link included in the email. Unfortunately, during the latter days of that week, I had gotten sick with the flu, and was in no condition to record a video presentation of myself. I contacted Randstad and explained the situation, but was met with no understanding at all; my contact at Randstad told me very firmly that I should make an effort to record the video presentation of myself and send it to her right away, otherwise she would have to discard my application in its entirety’. This left me with the impression that Randstad look at applicants like cattle. I never replied, as I was not interested in working for/through a company with that kind of view of their empoyees.
