Entrevista
I submitted my resume and cover letter in response to a LinkedIn posting. A month later, I got an email asking to set up a phone interview. The phone interview happened the next day. I am 3/4 of the way across the United States from their office, but fortunately I was flying to their side of the country the next week. Though it would take 10 hours of driving from my airport destination, and though I was unemployed, I thought this was a great opportunity to interview and I went all out to get to the interview. I did not anticipate DC traffic to be as bad as it was, and I ended up being 15 minutes late to the interview.
The interview went well. I met with the owner and the project management director for about an hour. I was told that there were a few other candidates they were considering, and they were looking for the right "cog" to fit their organization. According to the project management director, they were looking to hire pretty qickly on this position.
As of this writing, it has been 2-1/2 weeks since the interview, I have sent 2 emails and left one voicemail stating my interest in the position, and I have not had a reply yet. The lack of consideration from this company in responding to emails/voicemais regarding the status of my application, especially considering the expense and effort I made to do a face-to-face interview, I think is appalling. If the company really is like this in ignoring requests from a potential candidate, I wonder how they are in responding to companies that want to use their services.
