I would like to formally apologize to this candidate. After doing a full debrief, I learned that our most Junior Technical Recruiter did indeed ask this candidate an inappropriate question. The recruiter had been formally trained however ventured into an area that is off-limits. From that point, matters worsened as the candidate informed our HR department of the incident. Our HR team pulled together both the recruiter's functional manager as well as the recruiter's administrative manager to review the candidate's complaint. Unfortunately, both managers left that meeting unclear as to who was to follow up with the candidate. The functional manager eventually did contact the candidate but by that time, the candidate was thoroughly, and rightfully so, offended.
As the owner and CEO of Method3, I assure you that we take these matters seriously and in this case we acted inappropriately both during and after the incident. I would welcome a conversation with the candidate and the opportunity to show the candidate that this incident is not the norm at Method3.
