Comically dehumanizing experience. Filled out a basic application of interest with questions about experience that could be found on my resume. Was then asked to complete a Wonderlic assessment and personality test. Wonderlic was easy but stressful bc you had 14 seconds on avg to answer each question. Complete ableist bs, and companies should be ashamed to continue this practice. The personality test, wow, where to begin. “Have you ever lied before?” “Have you ever voted for a candidate you knew nothing about?” “Have you ever crossed the street against a stop sign?” I’m sorry, but what are we even doing here? Absolutely degrading line of questioning. I think it even asked if I smoked/have ever smoked/used nicotine in any capacity. So after lying about every question, I passed the tests and was asked to fill out ANOTHER APPLICATION with information that could be found on my resume. I was then given a typical HR zoom screen with a recruiter. This recruiter acted like she wished she could be doing anything else in the world, and who could blame her when she works for a company like this? By my own standards, I thought I gave a great interview. She kept trying to end the interview early when I started asking questions she was ill equipped to answer. Afterward, she sent me ANOTHER APPLICATION asking for information ALREADY ON MY RESUME. This was the third application, and it basically asked me the same STAR questions I just answered. Not only that, it also asked about what my parents and wife’s parents did for a living?. I haven’t been asked this question since I was in grade school. Application sent off to HR and was not offered a second interview. Companies like this deserve to fail. Do not waste your time. It’s ok if I’m not a fit for the role, whatever it happens to all of us, but to be so disrespectful of a persons time is hard to fathom in this day in age. Quit treating people like fodder. Solidarity to all my brothers and sisters out there! Your worth is greater than these completely outdated and discriminatory practices!
