This was the strangest “interview” process I’ve ever encountered. I had one 30 min phone call with President Bill Mattern. After which I was invited to take their assessment. When I arrived I was immediately put in a room by myself to take the test, he was not interested in speaking with me in person at all. The 2-hour timed test consisted of 30 essay questions and 75ish (I think) multiple choice. Bill claimed most people finish in 90 minutes which I believe is a lie. I was not able to complete the test in 2 hours. The essay style questions include writing full press releases. There is no way to complete this at the level of quality I would hope they would want from their employees. I was told to let myself out when I finished, so the amount of face-to-face time I had with them was maybe 5 minutes. This was a terrible experience and really rubbed me the wrong way. I don’t fault them for wanting to test prospective employees, but why they do so before even having a proper in-person interview is beyond me. This experience told me everything I needed to know and I have no interest in working here. I have since accepted another offer at the salary Bill baulked at. Good riddance.
