      Entrevista para Account Executive

      Entrevista

I saw the job opportunity on LinkedIn. I sent my resume and received an email the following day telling me that they want to move forward with my application by taking the skills test. I scheduled a time and took the test. I was a bit rusty on some of the items on the test and was sure that things weren’t going so well. I finished the test and after the weekend I heard back from the HR Contact. It was a simple email saying that I didn’t pass the test—this was no surprise to me. What really impressed me was that the HR Contact supplied me with resources that I could use to learn more about online search campaigns. She even offered information about a recruiting agency that had helped her in the past. I really appreciated the extra value that she had added to the interview process—usually you just get the “form” letter saying that you were not accepted to move further. I’d love to learn more about Rise and this really made me feel like they respect and are thankful for those who want to join their team, even if it’s not the right fit at the moment.

      Pergunta 1

There was a fill in the blanks for a mock search campaign. Lastly the applicant writes an email to a new client.

Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 3 semanas. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Rise Interactive (Chicago, IL).

      Entrevista

Applied online, followed by phone interview, online aptitude test and in person interviews. Easy interview. People were nice enough. The interview went very well, but I wasn't invited back for the next round. Very odd. Told me they had other candidiates that were a better fit. Fair enough, but you can come to that conclusion from looking at resumes. They simply weren't being honest. Why did they get my hopes up, call me in and make me jump through hoops? Get the sense they just wanted pick my brain for ideas.

Initial test with math/verbal questions given. 30 questions in one hour, kinda tricky. Need an 80% to advance to next round. Many of the questions are deliberately set up to induce wrong answers. Especially with the math, watch out for the fill in the blanks and the specific way the question asks you to enter your answer (ie whole number, dollar amount, to the nearest tenth) If you read quickly you will miss. Luckily you get two chances with the test.

      Entrevista

I applied for the position online through craigslist. I received a prompt response and was asked to schedule a time to take a 1 hour skills test. The test had three parts: 1) filling out missing parts of conversion rate and acquisition rate formulas; 2) deciding how to allocate a budgeted amount of money to 6 search engines; and 3) writing an introduction email to a client. The test was straightforward and I was able to finish it within an hour. When I followed up a couple days after completing the test, the HR Assistant told me I did well on the test and would be contacting me soon for an interview. Later that day, I received a rejection email. I followed up with the HR Assistant, and she said that that was a mistake and she would be contacting me for an interview. The HR Assistant emailed me to schedule an interview for the Internet Marketing Consultant position--I had applied for the Account Executive position. When questioned about this, the HR Assistant told me I would have to discuss that with the internal recruiter. Because I also had an interest in the Internet Marketing Consultant position, I decided to prepare for the interview as if I was applying for that position instead of the Account Executive position. Halfway through my interview, I realized that I was being interviewed for the Account Executive position. The whole process was unorganized and unprofessional. On top of that, the interviewer kept cutting me off mid-sentence when I was asking questions and made the whole interview seemed rushed. The process did not make me feel confident in the company or its potential. If they are this unorganized with their recruits, how do they treat their clients?
