Candidatei-me pessoalmente. O processo levou 1 dia. Fui entrevistado pela River Island (Cork) em nov. de 2013
Entrevista
I posted in my CV and cover letter to my local River Island so see if there was any jobs going, and seeing as that it is nearly Christmas I was called back right away to be invited to a Recruitment Event the next week. The manager was super nice and friendly, but I guess that is how they all are until you are actually in the shop!
I went to the event and there was 18 of us in total. We were all given name tags, which were really unnecessary and made us all feel like we were back in playschool but I guess the manager thought it was needed so I just went along with it. At first the manager introduced herself and told us a little about the background of RI and what types of jobs she had to offer us and what contracts. She had 15 jobs in total which is CRAZY considering it is a small enough store. She then introduced us to 2 more managers and split us into 3 groups of 6.
When we were in our groups of 6 she assigned one manager to each group, my group got a young assistant manager who was so lovely and nice to us she put us at our ease straight away and was making jokes with us. She played an ice breaker game just to make us more comfortable around each other. She asked us all the same question 'If you could be a beverage what would you be and why?' It was just a silly question that you were supposed to have a laugh with, I suppose it was also her way of seeing who was up for fun.
After that we were all pretty comfortable around each other and then she asked us a question each, they were things like 'How would you sell RI clothing' and 'How can you offer good customer service to our customers'. I got asked 'Who inspires you and why?' which was easy enough but you had to think on the spot so a lot of people ended up blabbing about crap that wasn't even relevant to the question, but the manager was really helpful and gave them hints that would make a good answer.
Then we were put into pairs and assigned to different part of the store and given a celebrity and an occasion to find an outfit for. We got Pixie Lott going to college and were assigned the laid back casual section of the store. It was easy enough, just a tip to anyone who is going to a interview soon, don't be afraid to think outside the box. Me and my partner thought because it is Pixie Lott, she would probably be going out after college so we picked up a clutch and heels that she could change her college outfit into a night out look too. The manager really liked that and she was impressed that we took the initiative.
After all that she just told us about what its like to work in RI and the discounts and different shifts you can work. We all ended up chatting about general things like holidays and school, she really was so nice and laid back, I think we got it easy compared to the other groups!
Then they just told us we would be contacted in 2 days if we got the job and sent home. I don't see how they could tell who was a good worker or not by that night alone as it didn't show who was customer savvy or who had fashion knowledge, but I'm not complaining! I got offered a job 2 days later and I am going for my induction later this day!

My interview was done online with an ai bot who asks you questions. I answered them but I don’t think the questions are the same for everyone. But I did my best and in my opinion interviews online is better than face to face.

applied for job on indeed then emailed and text a link to AI Chatbot interview. Asked if I have right to work, would I be available for x hours across x days, why I want to work at River Island, how would you handle a situation where customer is upset, rank a few tasks based on importance and then went onto video interview. Was asked what my favourite river island piece of clothing is and how I would sell it to a customer, what do I think typical tasks of a sales advisor role are, what does excellent customer service look like and give example, what makes a successful team.

The interview was genuinely relaxed and welcoming from the moment I walked in. I felt at ease right away, on comfortable terms with the interviewer, and able to speak openly and naturally without any pressure.
