      Entrevista para Marketing Assistant

Candidatei-me online. Fui entrevistado pela Riverpoint Management em set. de 2017

      Entrevista

Phone interview promises you the world, asks what your goals are and gives a vague overview with a lot of false promises. They told me they are a marketing, PR and advertising company which, while this may be true to some extent, what they don't tell you is that they do direct marketing so your third interview is at Sam's Club where you learn how they sell things to customers. Luckily, I found this out before my interview and called to let them know I was no longer interested. If you are looking for a job where you can be an entrepreneur and work on your people skills, this is the job for you. If you're looking to further your career in anything else, this is not the job for you. Thank you, glassdoor, for saving me an hour and a half drive each way to an interview that would likely have been a disaster.

Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 3 dias. Fui entrevistado pela Riverpoint Management (Pittsburgh, PA) em out. de 2017

      Entrevista

I recently applied for a "marketing assistant" position with Riverpoint Management. I put marketing assistant in quotes because the job positing was incredibly misleading (as the position is primarily SALES)! During the first interview, I met with the president of the company who attempted to get me excited about a position full of opportunity. The interview was extremely brief and answered very questions. I'm sure this was intentional. A few hours later I received a call informing me that I was selected for a second interview. I had done some research on the company but decided to give them a chance anyway. I really wish I hadn't wasted my time. I drove nearly 45-minutes to a big-box store. There, I learned that I would be promoting (aka: SELLING) products to shoppers because "every one begins in entry level". So much for that "marketing assistant" position I had applied for. Picture the booths you see set up in the aisles of the mall. It's similar to that... I was then told that in less than a year I could be managing a portion of the company's clients and making upwards of $75,000 a year. But, here's the kicker, I would be making just over minimum wage until that "promotion". Be warned and don't be deceived!

Thank you for your feedback about your interview with Riverpoint Management. We are sorry for any confusion during the interview process as we promote products for Fortune 500 companies by means of in-store promotions. You are correct, our business model is all about growth that leads to big promotions that can get you into management positions. We are sorry these growth opportunities do not align with your career goals. We do appreciate any feedback and will definitely work to explain things more clearly in the future!

      Entrevista

I found the job on Indeed.com and applied online. They contacted me within 24 hours of applying, and they wanted to schedule the interview the next day. I was very skeptical by how quickly they wanted to set things up. I went the following week to meet with the "president," who turned out to be a girl in her 20's who had done well at another branch, and was given her own branch under false pretense of it being a small business. She was nice, but they omitted a lot of details, such as the "event marketing" simply means going to places like Sam's Club and asking shoppers for feedback on a product. There were many aspects of this position that were advertised falsely, and as a college graduate, I was very disappointed at how overqualified and undervalued my skills were being taken.
