It was a staged, one round rejection interview linked to my current employer. Phone call with internal recruiter was all fine and crystal clear, and I knew I passed. Recruiter kept asking me why my current company is not a good fit. Recruiter said he’s not trying to give me a hard time (he certainly was trying to and that was a lie), and kept harping on the same question a couple times. He’s just trying to tease out detailed information via voice, so my current company knows this via surveillance. Recruiter said one week to hear back. Heard nothing and I called after 2 weeks later, twice. No call back from recruiter and rejection letter was sent. Funny thing, within those two weeks, all people I interface with at my company were overly nice, prompt, and professional with me. They knew about my attempt to leave, and knew this was a preplanned, staged rejection.
