Candidatei-me online. Fui entrevistado pela Robinhood em jul. de 2020
Entrevista
I applied online and was reached out to with a take home assignment. Recruiter was friendly and answered questions I had about the assignment over email. The assignment was hosted on a 3rd party platform, and I could complete the assignment within a 2 week window (but had 24 hours to complete it once I opened it). The assignment was to write a 1-3 page response to an open-ended prompt.
I was expecting the prompt to be about product or agile development, but was surprised that it was centered around a COVID response. While I can see some value in having a topic agnostic to the job description, I found it was hard to write without having spoken to anyone from the company beforehand and having an insight into existing company processes.
I submitted the assignment without investing too much time, as I realized I had a different expectations. Considering recent trends of companies misusing interview assignments (using candidates as free consults), I felt the COVID prompt was poorly given and couldn't shake the feeling they were using candidate responses as a temp check or to gather ideas for the company to use. It would feel more genuine if the prompt was more related to the job role.
I was met with a rejection email and the same blurb mentioned in other posts where it is Robinhood policy to not give feedback to interview candidates.
Overall, it was an alright experience. The recruiter was friendly and responsive (I had responses within a day), and the assignment was easy to understand, but I don't agree with the prompt approach and the policy to not provide feedback to candidates.
