The interview process for the pay of the role seemed quite extensive.
The first stage was a call from one of their recruiters, discussing past teaching experiences and general suitability for the job role, this was fine and quite pleasant.
The second stage was a group 'jam' and experience day with scenario based questions and to see how you worked well in a group. This was also very fun and I have no issues with how this was conducted.
The third stage was running two classes as a band leader. I was asked to travel 2 and a half hours from my home, which If going for a regional role I would understand, but for going for a local role, seems very excessive. I was greeted by two interviews, one I had met at the jam day and who was lovely. The other I felt did very little to calm any nerves, and with a panel set up behind you when you're teaching 9 kids back to back after being put up in a hotel and a long drive, doesn't help!
The feedback was quick, impersonal and was from the same person who I felt, in all honesty, was on a slight power trip. The main reason being as I disclosed I was nervous, something which I think they will continue to find if they assess people in the deep end with a panel set up! A shame as the experience up until that point was positive, but this persons attitude really let it down.
