      Entrevista para Software Engineer

      Candidato(a) sigiloso(a) à entrevista
      Atlanta, GA
      Nenhuma oferta
      Experiência negativa
Entrevista com nível médio de dificuldade

      Candidatura

Candidatei-me por meio de recrutador(a). O processo levou 1 semana. Fui entrevistado pela RouteMatch Software (Atlanta, GA) em jul. de 2016

      Entrevista

I went through a recruiter who did my initial phone screen, nothing technical just an overview of what I was currently doing, why I was leaving my current role, etc. Then they bring you straight in for a 2 hour interview and that's it. This interview is broken up into 15 min blocks where you talk to different people on various teams. There were some technical questions and some out loud coding questions. Once you give an answer they want to see if you can find a different solution. They also dug into the technologies I listed on my resume, so be prepared to talk about your most recent tech stack technologies in detail. They'll make a decision in the next day or so. Now that you know the format, let's talk about what actually happened. This was one of the worst - if not the worst - interview I've ever been on. First off I told them I was very busy at work and was told they would try to work around my schedule. I requested a morning or afternoon interview so I could go to work before or after it. Instead they scheduled me for 12 noon - the worst possible time especially considering my office is 35 mins from theirs. I agree to go anyway. I show up and they are super unorganized which I saw because they were literally scrambling around in the hallway trying to figure out what was going on. The guy I was supposed to ask for when I got there wasn't even at the office that day. It started off ok, the first few guys I talked to seemed nice and knowledgeable, but since the people were switching out every 15 mins I found myself repeating the same things over and over again and not feeling like I had enough time to talk to anyone in depth. Towards the end of the interview I found myself with developers who acted like they didn't even want to be in the room with me, seriously wouldn't even make eye contact. No idea why they would pick those guys to represent them as a company. On top of that I gave an answer to a coding question that technically worked but wasn't efficient - ok, my bad I'm nervous and you asked me to code in my head which I'm not used to - to which I was put down for my answer. I proceeded to ask one of the software team leads about the career path there and was told he wasn't allowed to answer and I had to talk to HR about that - HUGE red flag. Then when I got the opportunity to talk to HR she complained to me that everyone from my team (we were all laid off) was too expensive - another red flag clearly indicating no room for growth. No I did not get an offer, instead I got an apology email for their behavior. And the recruiter I used who was representing them never even called me to talk about it, I literally just got the email. My advise to anyone thinking of interviewing here is RUN.

Details on the tech on your resume. If you list RabbitMQ, know about the protocols, if you list REST know about the different HTTP methods, etc.

      Entrevista

No phone interview straight in-person. Meet with the VP of the company, a team lead and senior engineer. Seemed like a good group of guys. Interview started with behavioral questions, then lead to coding questions and core software engineering questions. Overall good atmosphere, their office is in a nice building located in Midtown.

      Entrevista

The interview process was pleasant, the people I met were very kind and courteous. I enjoyed meeting with them during the time frame of our engagement, we spent a few hours talking about my experience and their expectation for a potential employee. They also offered to get back to me in the very near future and have always been very clear about what they want and what they offer.
