Unfortunately, this was one of the worst interview experiences I’ve had. The interview started late, and the interviewer came across as dismissive and condescending at times. When I asked how long training would be the response was just belittling, and there also seemed to be some lingering bias toward my current employer, which the interviewer was an ex-employee of. While I understand I may not have been the best fit and didn’t have all the answers to his technical question, the reaction when I asked for a question to be repeated was condescending, especially after stating that “no question is a silly question” right after he presented his question. The overall tone felt more like talking down than trying to have a productive conversation. I wasn’t surprised to hear that people in his team left the role, and I’d be cautious about working with someone who approaches interviews this way. That said, the recruiter was great, professional and communicative throughout the process.
