      Entrevista para User Experience Research

      Candidatura

Candidatei-me por meio de recrutador(a). O processo levou 5 semanas. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa SEEK (Sydney).

      Entrevista

Over 6+ weeks I spent hours on the following process. 30 min recruiter chat 1hr manager initial interview 90 min portfolio review with manager and head of research and others 3hr case studies incl homework challenges with another panel and manager 3hr+ psychometric testing assessments online with a deadline of 3 days over the weekend (got extended later) They kept taking me thru these steps but the feedback was very personal about energy, being low energy, sounding soft, calm, flat etc. Which is actually a natural asset for some people in high pressure situations! The feedback for the actual skills to do the role was very positive. But it's been sidelined by personality feedback They still want to do additional steps and spend more time doing interviews I don't want this dehumanising subjective opinion thank you very much. They cannot make up their mind if you're good enough or not. Lead/manager of the team is probably not empowered to take hiring decisions which tells me a lot about power distribution. Recruiter asked me to take the personality feedback as constructive but I told her I can't change myself for them to like me. Had to withdraw from the insane dehumanising process and to save myself from this company which looks at people thru this performance lense and not respecting your individuality. Speaks a lot for their hiring practices and how they will reward you if you joined. Pros- the questions asked by some of the panel about skills during the interview were focussed and not tangential which I in fact enjoyed. The lead/manager was kind and considered during the sessions. I don't think I'd join or recommend this department for the near future, and Seek is no longer on my top companies list for a while.
