I applied for a Fund Accountant position but was instead sent an assessment for a Trust Banking Officer role. Although it wasn’t the original role I applied for, I decided to proceed because the responsibilities appeared aligned with my education and background. The overall process took approximately two weeks for the assessment and HR round. The manager round, however, was quite exhausting and repetitive. Many of the questions focused extensively on past experience, despite the job posting clearly stating that only a high school diploma was required and positioning the role as entry-level. What was most disappointing was the lack of communication. I was informed that a decision would be made by the end of the same week as the manager interview. However, there was no update for over 2.5 weeks, even after multiple follow-ups. Eventually, I was told that other candidates’ experience aligned more closely which was confusing given that the role did not require prior experience. The process felt inconsistent and poorly managed. It seems that once a preferred candidate is identified, other applicants are not given timely updates or consideration. Candidates invest significant time preparing for assessments and multiple interview rounds, and clearer communication and transparency would greatly improve the experience. Overall, the hiring process did not reflect well on the organization’s professionalism or respect for candidates’ time.

3 stage interview, one introductory. It was supposed to be just 15 minutes but took 40 minutes and the interviewer was very serious. The interview was stressful with repetitive questions.
