The selection is based on one round of written test followed by couple of interview sessions with the scientific panel. The written test is easier to crack than the national eligibility test. The interview with scientific panel involves question and answer session on candidate's preferred broad topic such as recombinant DNA technology, molecular biology, cell biology etc. Apart from that other faculties can ask you random scientific questions
