The Assistant Director of Federal Programs for Sampson County Schools had discovered from a mutual friend that I was a certified teacher, but was having problems obtaining a teaching position in the county I was in. The Assistant Director and the Program Director called and asked if were interested in an ESL position that they had available. I was interested, and an interview appointment was scheduled for the following day.

It was simple with the principal at the school, and they had me answer some questions about my commitment and how I can collaborate with the teachers. Another question was how I can work with multicultural students and what kind of teaching strategies I can apply.
